1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information by The Recipe Book, LLC ("TRB," "we," "us," or "our") in connection with the WTFDidIPark mobile application ("Application") and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you ("User") agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Application immediately.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
We may collect the following categories of personally identifiable information ("PII") when you register or interact with the Application:
Full name
Email address
Account credentials
Vehicle information you choose to provide (e.g. make, model, license plate)
Optional notes you attach to a saved parking location
2.2 Information collected automatically
Upon accessing the Application, certain technical data may be collected automatically, including:
Device type, model, and operating system
Unique device identifiers
IP address and approximate geographic location
Precise location data (only when you actively save a parking location, with your permission)
In-app interactions, session duration, and usage patterns
Crash reports and diagnostic data
2.3 Location data
The core function of the Application requires access to your device's location services in order to save and retrieve parking locations. Location data is collected only when you actively use the Application's parking-save feature. We do not continuously track your location in the background without your knowledge. You may revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, though doing so will limit the core functionality of the Application.
2.4 Camera and photo data updated
The Application requests access to your device's camera solely to allow you to photograph your parking surroundings at the time of saving a spot. You acknowledge that:
Photos are captured voluntarily at your discretion and are not required to use the Application
Photos you capture are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to TRB servers or any third-party cloud service
We do not have access to, and do not collect, any photos taken through the Application
Camera access is not used for any purpose other than capturing parking spot photos at your explicit direction
You may revoke camera permissions at any time through your device settings. Doing so will disable the photo capture feature but will not affect the Application's other core functionality.
2.5 On-device AI and machine learning data updated
The Application uses on-device artificial intelligence and machine learning models, including private vision encoders, to process photos and surroundings data in order to generate your Spot Slip and assist in navigating you back to your vehicle. You acknowledge that:
All AI and machine learning inference runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device processing frameworks
No photos, visual data, or AI inference outputs are transmitted to TRB servers or any third party
The on-device AI models themselves do not learn from or retain your personal photos or location data between sessions
TRB does not have access to the inputs or outputs of the on-device AI processing performed on your device
This privacy-first, on-device architecture means that your parking photos and visual surroundings data remain exclusively on your personal device at all times.
3. Legal basis for processing
Where applicable under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") or equivalent legislation, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract: To provide the parking location services you request
Legitimate interests: To improve the Application and personalise your experience
Legal obligation: To comply with applicable laws and regulations
Consent: For location access, camera access, and other processing activities where you have explicitly provided consent
4. Use of information
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
To operate, maintain, and improve the Application and Services
To save, display, and retrieve your parking locations
To generate your Spot Slip using on-device AI processing
To provide navigation assistance back to your parked vehicle via Apple Maps
To personalise your experience and remember your preferences
To communicate with you regarding account updates and service-related notices
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorised activity
To comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing use. We do not use your parking photos, location data, or AI-processed outputs for any purpose beyond providing the Services to you.
5. Disclosure of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose your information to the following categories of third parties solely to the extent necessary to operate the Services:
Cloud and hosting providers: To store account data securely
Apple Inc.: As the provider of on-device AI frameworks, mapping services (Apple Maps), and location services used within the Application. Apple's use of such data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy
Analytics providers: To understand usage patterns and improve the Application
Legal and regulatory authorities: Where required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority
For the avoidance of doubt, parking photos processed by the on-device AI are not disclosed to any third party, as they never leave your device.
6. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active, as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as required by applicable law. Saved parking location data and associated photos are stored locally on your device and are retained until you delete them within the Application or uninstall the Application. Upon request, we will delete or anonymise any server-held personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
7. Data security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data transmissions are encrypted using Transport Layer Security ("TLS"). Parking photos and on-device AI processing outputs are stored exclusively on your device and are protected by your device's own security architecture, including any device-level encryption you have enabled. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of electronic transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
Right of access: To request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Right to rectification: To request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Right to erasure: To request deletion of your personal data
Right to restriction: To request that we limit processing of your data
Right to data portability: To receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Right to object: To object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent (including location and camera access), to withdraw it at any time via your device settings
Note that parking photos and locally stored data are within your direct control on your device and can be deleted by you at any time from within the Application or by uninstalling it.
9. Children's privacy
The Application is not directed to individuals under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take prompt steps to delete such information.
10. Third-party links and services
The Application integrates with Apple Maps for navigation. Use of Apple Maps is subject to Apple's terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for Apple's data practices. The Application may also contain links to other third-party services, and this Policy does not apply to those services.
11. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Application or via email. Your continued use of the Application following notice of such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.

13. Governing law

Terms of Service (App)
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and The Recipe Book, LLC ("TRB," "we," "us," or "our"), operator of the WTF Did I Park mobile application ("Application"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of the Application.
2. Eligibility
By using the Application, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, are not prohibited from using the Application under any applicable law, and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
3. Account registration
You may use certain features of the Application without creating an account. To access full features, you may be required to register. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised account use.
4. The application and services
4.1 Nature of services
WTF Did I Park is a native iOS application that helps users save and retrieve the location of their parked vehicle. Using your device's camera, location services, and on-device artificial intelligence, the Application generates a personalised Spot Slip — a record of your parking location — and guides you back to your vehicle when you are ready.
4.2 Camera use updated
The Application requests access to your device's camera solely for the purpose of photographing your parking surroundings at the time of saving a spot. By granting camera access, you acknowledge that:
Photos are captured at your explicit direction and are optional
All photos remain stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to TRB or any third-party server
You are responsible for ensuring that any photos you capture comply with applicable laws, including laws regarding photography in private or restricted locations
You must not use the camera feature to capture photos of individuals without their consent
4.3 On-device AI and machine learning updated
The Application employs on-device artificial intelligence, including private vision encoders, to process your parking photos and surroundings in order to generate your Spot Slip. You acknowledge that:
All AI inference runs entirely on your device; no visual data, photos, or AI outputs are transmitted to TRB or any third party
AI-generated Spot Slips are provided as a convenience tool and may not be perfectly accurate in all environments or lighting conditions
TRB makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated outputs
You should not rely solely on AI-generated guidance to locate your vehicle and should use reasonable judgment in conjunction with the Application
4.4 Location services and Apple Maps
The Application uses your device's location services and Apple Maps to record your parking coordinates and provide navigation back to your vehicle. Accuracy is dependent on your device's GPS signal and environmental conditions. Use of Apple Maps is subject to Apple's terms of service. We are not responsible for the accuracy of mapping or navigation data provided by Apple.
4.5 No liability for parking violations
The Application is a convenience tool only. We are not responsible for any parking violations, fines, towing, or other consequences arising from your parking decisions. You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable parking laws, regulations, and restrictions.
4.6 Service availability
We do not guarantee that the Application will be available at all times or that it will function without interruption. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Application or any feature at any time without prior notice.
5. User responsibilities
By using the Application, you agree that:
You will only photograph environments and locations where you have the right to do so
You will not use the Application to photograph individuals without their knowledge and consent
You will not attempt to circumvent, reverse engineer, or interfere with the on-device AI or any other component of the Application
You will not use the Application for any unlawful purpose
6. Intellectual property
6.1 Ownership
All content within the Application, including text, imagery, design, software, on-device AI models, vision encoders, brand assets, and underlying technology, is the exclusive property of TRB or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
6.2 Limited licence
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Application solely for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
6.3 Restrictions
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, extract, or attempt to replicate the Application's AI models, vision encoders, or any other proprietary technology. You may not use the Application or its content for any commercial purpose without prior written consent from TRB.
7. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to use the Application for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Application or its infrastructure; reverse engineer or extract proprietary AI models or vision encoders; interfere with the Application's operation; submit false or fraudulent information; or use automated tools to access or scrape data from the Application.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Application and all Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted or error-free, that saved parking locations or AI-generated Spot Slips will be accurate, or that the on-device AI will correctly identify or interpret your parking surroundings in all circumstances. Your use of the Application is at your sole risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TRB, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Application, including but not limited to parking fines, towing fees, loss of vehicle, inaccurate AI-generated Spot Slips, inaccurate location or navigation data, loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TRB and its respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Application, your violation of these Terms, your use of the camera feature in a manner that violates applicable law or third-party rights, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Third-party services
The Application integrates with Apple Maps and Apple's on-device machine learning frameworks. Your use of these services is governed by Apple's terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the practices, content, or accuracy of any third-party services.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Application at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Application ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitation of liability.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Recipe Book, LLC is incorporated. Disputes shall first be subject to thirty (30) days of good faith negotiation, after which they shall be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in class, consolidated, or representative proceedings.
14. Changes to these terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Application or via email. Continued use following notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TRB with respect to the Application and supersede all prior agreements.
